If you are trying to update to the newest version of the Safepoint mobile app, you can sometimes be met with an older version when checking the Google Play Store. This is an issue with the Google Play Store itself and this guide will walk you through the steps to solve it.

After finding Safepoint on the Google Play Store, you can check which version you are able to download by tapping "About this app" and scrolling to the bottom. The image below shows an example of what you should see. If this version shows the latest version, great! However, if it doesn't, then keep reading.

Solution 1

Solution 1 is to "force stop" the Google Play Store app. This should force it to refresh the versions of apps available to you. The below steps may vary slightly from device to device, but you should still be able to do this on any Android device.

  1. Open your device settings.

  2. Go to the settings page where you can view all of your apps.

  3. Search or select the Google Play Store.

  4. Tap the "Force Stop" button. See the image below for an example of what the force stop button may look like for you.

  5. Reopen and find Safepoint on the Google Play Store, it should show a newer version if one is available. If this doesn't work, try the next solution below.

Solution 2

Solution 2 is to clear any data that the Google Play Store may have stored and force it to re-request it. Don't worry, this shouldn't affect any of your existing apps. Again, the below steps may vary slightly from device to device, but you should still be able to do this on any Android device.

  1. Open your device settings.

  2. Go to the settings page where you can view all of your apps.

  3. Search or select the Google Play Store.

  4. You should have a "Storage" (or similar) option.

  5. Tap "Clear Cache" and then tap "Clear Data". You may see a warning pop-up, but again, don't worry as this will only clear the Google Play Store's data which we will refresh in the next step. Tap "OK" on any warning pop-up to clear the data. The image below shows an example of the page that you are looking for.

  6. Reopen and find Safepoint on the Google Play Store, it should show a newer version if one is available. If this doesn't work, try the next solution below.

Solution 3

Hopefully, the above solutions have solved the problem, but if not, the last option to try is to simply turn your phone off and on again. Once your phone has restarted, search for Safepoint on the Google Play Store and you should see the newest version.
