How to reduce battery usage during real-time location tracking in the Safepoint App

Written by James Rogers

When a safety task or alert is active, the Safepoint App uses real-time location tracking to monitor your whereabouts. This can have a noticeable impact on your device's battery life, particularly during longer tasks.

Low Power Mode reduces the frequency and accuracy of location updates to help preserve battery life. This is useful if you're concerned about battery usage during extended tasks, or if you're working in an area where precise location accuracy is less critical.

Note: Low Power Mode reduces location accuracy and update frequency. In safety-critical situations, Normal mode is recommended where possible.

Enable Low Power Mode

  1. Open the App

  2. Tap Account in the bottom right of the screen

  3. Tap Locations

  4. Tap Power mode

  5. Select Low to enable Low Power Mode, or Normal to restore full location tracking

The setting takes effect immediately and will apply to any active or future safety tasks and alerts.
