An Alert in Safepoint is an urgent notification raised when there’s a potential risk to your safety. Alerts can be triggered manually by a worker or automatically by the system, and they are always directed to guardians or, if enabled, to Safepoint’s 24/7 monitoring centre.

How Alerts are Triggered

1. From the Safepoint App

  • Manual — Raise an alert at any time, whether you’re in a task or not, by pressing the Request Help button.

  • Automatic (via Tasks) — If you are in a task and the timer expires without being checked in, completed, or extended, an alert is automatically raised.

2. From Lock Screen & Home Screen Widgets

  • Manual — On iOS and Android you can add a Safepoint widget, giving you quick access to raise an alert without opening the app. On iOS, you can also trigger alerts directly from the Lock Screen.

3. From the Safepoint Wearable Panic Alarm

  • Manual — A Bluetooth accessory that pairs with the Safepoint app, allowing discreet alert triggers.

  • Automatic — Includes fall detection, which automatically raises an alert if a fall is detected.

4. From the Safepoint Lone Worker Device

  • Manual — Alerts can be triggered via the SOS button.

  • Automatic — Supports fall detection, tilt detection, and geofence alerts. (See our device documentation for details.)

Where Alerts Go

Alerts can be directed in two ways:

  • Internal Guardians — Team members with the Guardian role receive alerts in the Safepoint Web Portal and Mobile App. Alerts can be assigned to specific guardians, who will see real-time information such as the worker’s GPS location, device battery status, and any notes provided. Guardians then respond according to your company’s procedures.

  • 24/7 Monitoring (ARC) — If your company is on a 24/7 monitoring plan, alerts are routed to Safepoint’s accredited Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). Trained operators monitor and handle escalations at any time of day or night.
