Note: These settings apply only to reminder notifications of the task running on your phone. If you want to adjust team-wide notification settings, please visit this article.

When running a safety task in the Safepoint Mobile App, it's important to make sure you complete or extend it before the timer runs out to prevent a false alarm trigger.

It's easy to forget as you go about your day, so the app delivers automatic reminder notifications at the following times:

  • 10 minutes before task times out

  • 5 minutes before task times out

  • When the task times out and an expired alert is triggered

You may find that you’re still missing some of these reminders and accidentally triggering false alerts. To help with this, we’ve included additional features designed to make your notifications more noticeable and harder to miss.

Customisable notification sounds

The default notification 'ding', might not stand out or blend in with other notifications. You can change this to a voice notification that says, for example: "Your Safepoint task expires in 10 minutes".

To change this setting:

  1. Open the App

  2. Tap 'Account' in the bottom right of the screen

  3. Tap 'Notifications'

  4. Tap one of the notifications under 'Task notifications'

  5. Tap 'Notification sound', select the sound

  6. Tap 'Test notification' to hear it

  7. Now tap 'Save' in the top right corner

Note: You'll need to repeat this for each notification type e.g. 'Task timeout', '5 minute reminder' and '10 minute reminder'.

Bypass Do Not Disturb

If you're still missing reminder notifications, you can enable a mode that allows them to override your Do Not Disturb and mute settings. When enabled, these notifications can be much louder, making them nearly impossible to miss.

To change this setting:

  1. Open the App

  2. Tap 'Account' in the bottom right of the screen

  3. Tap 'Notifications'

  4. Tap one of the notifications under 'Task notifications'

  5. Toggle 'Bypass Do Not Disturb'

  6. Optionally adjust the volume

  7. Tap 'Test notification' to hear it

  8. Now tap 'Save' in the top right corner

Note: You'll need to do this for each notification type e.g. 'Task timeout', '5 minute reminder' and '10 minute reminder'.

Note: The app will require special permissions from your device. Simply follow the instructions in the warning at the top of the screen
